She thinks Mandy doesn't mean it. Then she kept sleeping. The next day, she saw Mandy when she came back from work. When they said hello to each other, she found Mandy's hands covered with some wounds.
The next day, they meet in the lift and chat together. From the conversation, Amy knows that Mandy doesn't have any job and she is very interested in drawing, so Amy invited Mandy to visit her workplace. Mandy was very excited and said Okay! The next day, Amy knocked on Mandy's door and asked her "Are you ready?" Mandy was very disappointed and said that her boyfriend was not feeling well and had to take care of him. At this time, Mandy's boyfriend-Josh came out and agreed with what Mandy said, but he doesn't look sick. After Amy said some kind word, Josh let Mandy go with Amy. Act 2 - Conflict (Rising Action, Midpoint, Plot Point Two)
Amy saw Mandy's phone keep ringing on the table and saw her message from Josh by accident. Josh keeps asking Mandy when she will come back, why haven't cook dinner..It shows that Josh is very controlling of Mandy. Amy said "Your boyfriend doesn't know how to settle dinner by himself?"Mandy said "he's just too tired.." Amy is mad at Mandy saying that "you are so soft hearted, that's why your boyfriend treats you like that!" Mandy wonders why Amy's mean. Amy said she can hear very clearly how Josh treats Mandy. Mandy said" I think he is just too stressed.." Amy thinks that is not the reason for Josh to keep hitting and yelling at Mandy. Amy suggested giving Josh one more chance, If it happened again she would call the police and many agreed.
After hearing what Amy said to her, she decided to work with them. After telling Josh this decision, Josh gets mad and yells at Mandy. Mandy said she just wanted to lighten the load for Josh and get some income. Josh kept criticising and humiliating her drawing skills and said that Mandy cheated on him. Then, tear out her artwork and slapped her. Mandy felt disappointed and said "let's break up! I'm enough!" Josh apologises and keeps holding Mandy's hand, but Mandy rejects.
